What is Beard Transplant?

Stubble beard fashion is emerging as a style that is rapidly gaining popularity among men. With the addition of the striking beards of the young series and film industry, it has become impossible to find men almost without beard in the places we go. Beard transplantation, on the other hand, is a method frequently used by men with beards and sparse beards.

Which Method Is Used In Beard Transplantation?

FUE transplantation method is used in beard transplantation. In this method, the transplantation process starts with the determination of the donor area. In beard transplantation, it is preferred to remove the hair on the neck and cheekbones, which are close to the beard area and are not aesthetically necessary.

If sufficient grafts (1 graft contains 2 to 3 hair follicles on average) cannot be obtained from these regions, the hairs of the nape area are preferred. Hair follicles taken from the nape area are preferred because they do not create any deprivation in that area. Even the patient's own barber will not realize that there is a decrease in this area.

Secondly, in beard transplantation, the area to be transplanted is determined and how much hair root should be transplanted to the area. After that, channel opening is performed on the area to be planted. Grooving is one of the most important parts of the planting process. It is very important that the channels are opened at the right angle so that the hair follicles to be transplanted are suitable for the width and the beard looks natural. After the channel opening, it is time to take the grafts from the donor area. The determined number of grafts are taken one by one from the donor area through a device with a very thin tip and high circuit called micro motor. The hair follicles taken are placed one by one in the channels opened in the area to be transplanted. The transplantation process is thus completed.

What Should Be Done After Beard Transplantation?

After the beard transplantation, the person is discharged. The first wash is carried out in the center where the beard transplantation is performed within 1 to 3 days after the beard transplantation. Until the first washing process, the patient must carefully protect the transplanted area. The reason for this is that it takes a certain amount of time for the skin to fully combine with the transplanted roots after the transplantation process. The patient should not contact and wash the beard area with water until the first wash. Apart from this, perfume should not come into contact with substances such as cologne. In addition, the transplanted area should not be shaved until the approval of your physician. You should never use harmful substances such as tobacco products and alcohol in the first week. After the transplantation process, although it varies from person to person, a process called shock spill is experienced. This process can occur between 30 and 90 days after transplantation and the transplanted hairs are shed. Shock loss is a common thing and should not be alarmed. Because only the transplanted hair is shed, the transplanted hair roots are still subcutaneous. Achieving the desired result as a result of beard transplantation takes an average of 6 to 9 months. It is up to the person to shorten this process. With the right care and hygiene, the healing process runs healthier.
